Unfortunately I’ve not been able to get the chance to update my website for at least two months due to so many tournaments. Since the Paul Hunter Classic in Fuerth I have played in: UK PTC 3, PTC Antwerp Belgium, The Kay Suzanne memorial cup (UK PTC 4), Bulgarian open in Sofia, The UK championship, Munich open and the German masters. I’ve had some good wins and a lot of positives to take from these tournaments. The stand out game was against Belgian player Luca Brecel in the UK championship qualifiers, I led 5-3 only to lose 6-5… Luca then progressed through three more qualifying matches including a 6-1 win against ex world champion Peter Ebdon, he then won two games in the televised stages to reach the last 8. He is a good friend and a great player! In the Munich open I beat world number 40 Michael White then faced world number two Mark Selby, it’s safe to say I got quite attached to the chair I sat in…Mark made three centuries and a break of sixty to beat me. All good experience for my first year!
I’m back from Germany after loosing in the last 32 of then Paul Hunter Classic in Furth. Good tournament with brilliant crowds and spectators, not to mention the Stadhalle Arena…great venue!
Tomorrow I fly out to Germany for the Paul Hunter Classic, I play at 10.30am on Friday morning UK time. I’ll try my best!
On Sunday I will start my International Championship campaign against Robbie Williams from England, another very good player. I play at 3pm in the first qualifying round, I hope I can play well!
This coming Saturday I’ll be playing in the Gdynia Open (Poland). Only the last 32 onwards will be played in Poland, therefore the last 128 and last 64 will be held in Sheffield at the World Snooker Academy in the English Institute Of Sport. I will play the winner of Jamie Gibson v Kyren Wilson, come on!
The second UK PTC was last week there, I managed to notch up another win. I beat another fellow scot Fraser Patrick in the last 128, before losing out to 2007 Grand Prix Champion and 2008 UK Championship runner up Marco Fu. He outclassed me, excellent player the man from hong kong is!
Played my first two professional tournaments, I beat Liam Highfield then lost to Jamie Burnett in the PTC. In Sheffield for the Shanghai Masters qualifiers I beat Chen Zhe then Yu Delu and lost out to 1997 world finalist Nigel Bond. I’m happy with my performance, the professional game is extremely tough!
2 days after the first PTC of the season it’s my first ranking event – the Shanghai Masters. Qualifiers are to be played in the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield, inside the English Insitute of Sport. I play Chinese player Chen Zhe in the morning of tuesday the 24th of July at 10:00.
Practicing well over the past few days before I head down to Gloucester on friday. I play Liam Highfield on saturday morning at 9am, tough game! Live scores available – http://livescores.worldsnookerdata.com/Default.aspx?t=12974
